0% tax on balcony power plants from 2023
The annual tax law was passed by the Bundestag. The legislation provides for the purchase of photovoltaic systems of less than 30 KwP and thus also balcony power plants with 0% VAT. This means that when you purchase a balcony power plant in 2023, VAT will de facto no longer apply and our products will be significantly cheaper.
The change essentially:
A new tax rate will be introduced for sales tax. This tax rate is zero percent. This means that VAT is still declared, but it is zero percent and therefore €0. The zero percent tax applies to the end consumer and therefore reaches the end consumer.
- Delivery and installation of photovoltaic system including necessary accessories and storage
- Public buildings for the common good, systems on residential buildings
- Maximum 30kWp
- Delivery and installation from January 1st, 2023
How does Mein-Solarwerk support customers in implementing the zero percent tax*
Unfortunately, the legislation has not created a framework that is clear for all practical cases. In the event of a negative check by the tax office, the tax authorities can collect VAT from the dealer/solar engineer (even if they have charged their customers 0%) and the risk therefore lies with them. On February 27th, the Federal Ministry of Finance cleared up many ambiguities in a letter . Mein-Solarwerk implements the zero percent tax as follows:
- Balcony power plant complete sets will be available to purchase directly in the shop from January 1st, 2023, i.e. with 0% tax, meaning our prices will be reduced from next year.
- Essential components with serial numbers , such as inverters and solar modules, will be available to purchase directly in the shop from January 1st, 2023, i.e. with 0% tax, meaning our prices will be reduced from next year.
- Complete assembly sets are shown with 0% VAT
- Solar cable, inverter connection cable & Wieland power socket are shown with 0% VAT
- Accessories and individual components will continue to be shown with the normal VAT of 19% and therefore there will be no change to 2022
- Customers who require individual solutions, for example a complete set expanded to include the necessary assembly materials, please contact us by email or telephone before purchasing. We create a “tax-exempt” offer with 0% tax in compliance with tax legislation.
